FINAL FANTASY XIV Online: How do I recover my old account?

Short answer

Suggested fix (unconfirmed): Contact Square Enix Customer Support to recover your account details. Do not try to register your CD key again on a new account, as keys can only be used once.

The problem

I tried playing this a few back but I couldn't login, I want to try again. Is there still issues with account recovery?
