Short answer

The problem

In Mon Bazou, the game only allows one input device at a time in the controls menu. This means you can’t directly use both a Moza wheelbase and a Moza shifter together. To work around this, you can use Joy2Key to map the shifter’s inputs to keyboard keys, allowing both devices to function in-game. Fish Bucket Bug

This solution worked! it was a bit tricky to position buckets in my case since they had been laying on their side in the truck bed, and I have since lifted the truck, but I got one bucket covering the head of each fish and one covering the tail, saved and quit out, reload, and voila!
