Hollow Knight: Silksong: All Enemies for a full Hunter's Journal / Hunter's Memento

Short answer

A full journal list of every enemy in the game, with locations and occasional advice

Steam Community guide by chelsworld.

Important Information

This guide will be updated once Silksong DLC drops!

General Information:

This list is ordered the same way it is in-game. If you don't have access to seeing everything, I'd advise filling out your Bellhome and mostly completing Act 3.

To get the Hunter's Memento, you need to complete* each entry, and then talk to Nuu in Greymoor. It shouldn't be missable!
Each enemy will have a number next to it. This signifies which one it is in the Hunter's Journal, allowing for easier navigation.
"Secret. Not required for Hunter's Memento." or something around those lines typically means that the enemy listed is not required for the final achievement.
This guide may contain inaccuracies. Please leave comments!

Enemy Information:

The enemies at Bonegrave are different each time you respawn them through a bench.
Clawmaiden (162) can be permanently gotten ridden of through a secret in High Halls. If this interests you, check out this guide.
In Act 3; Craw (72), Tallcraw (73), and Squatcraw (74) may temporarily become unobtainable entries until you defeat Crawfather (78).

Other Useful Stuff

There's another guide which showcases almost all entries in a Youtube video, I'd recommend checking it out:

There's also an interactive map[mapgenie.io] which may help you in searching for the location of certain enemies!
And finally, a really well done guide of the same topic, but only features Act 3 locations:

List (1-13)

Mossgrub (1)

Description: "Fur covered crawler with a series of sharp spikes along its back."
Hunter's Note: "If not for the spikes, I would think it an appealing bug."
Found in: Moss Grotto, Mosshome, Memorium.

Massive Mossgrub (2)

Description: "Unnaturally overgrown Mossgrub, bred within the Citadel's Memorium."
Hunter's Note: "So close to a perfect furred form... If only they'd been able to breed out the spines."
Found in: Memorium.

Mossmir (3)

Description: "Small fluttering creature capable of defending itself with its small stinger."
Hunter's Note: "This bug is soft and clumsy, but to its fortune its home caves seem relatively free of effective predators. I wonder why that is."
Found in: Moss Grotto, Mosshome, Memorium.

Moss Mother (4)

Description: "Adult Mossmir with a fully developed stinger and hardened hide."
Hunter's Note: "Motherhood is an instinct that can push creatures beyond what seems their natural limits. It turns even weaker beasts like these into formidable foes."
Found in: Moss Grotto, Weavenest Atla.

Aknid (5)

Description: "Winged insect that feeds upon moss and lichen in the caves above Bone Bottom."
Hunter's Note: "In its natural state it would avoid potential predators, but Pharloom's Haunting now compels it to aggression. Fortunately, its jaws are ill-suited for combat."
Found in: Mosshome.

Skull Scuttler (6)

Description: "Small, soft bug that uses the hard skulls of the Marrow for protection and disguise."
Hunter's Note: "In every land, creatures find new and surprising ways to disguise themselves. One must be wary always."
Found in: The Marrow.

Skullwing (7)

Description: "Airborne relative of the grounded Skull Scuttler, found only in the Marrow's deepest, hottest caves."
Hunter's Note: "Such feeble creatures could only survive thanks to the rarity of predators in these super-heated caverns."
Found in: The Marrow.

Skull Brute (8)

Description: "Soft bug beneath a huge, horned skull. Charges at intruders to protect its territory and its smaller companions."
Hunter's Note: "Either its size has made it fearless or the Haunting has removed its sense of self-preservation."
Found in: The Marrow.

Skull Tyrant (9)

Description: "Rare, enormous Skull Scuttler. The Marrow's largest predator, and the most feared for its ferocious temperament."
Hunter's Note: "Though surely fierce, the skull it bears looks taken from an even larger beast. If not for the bones as proof, I would scarcely believe bugs could grow to such scale."
Found in: Bone Bottom*, The Marrow.

Kilik (10)

Description: "Small boney bug that favours dark tunnels. Can expand its spiked carapace to ward against attacking predators."
Hunter's Note: "I am fond of simple, effective traps such as this bug's extendable spikes. An unwary predator would be skewered clean through."
Found in: The Marrow.

Beastfly (11)

Description: "Aggressive fly of Pharloom's lowlands. Rams prey with its hardbone mask."
Hunter's Note: "Dancing around this simple creature as it charges back and forth is the sort of game I delighted in as a child. Alas, I now have more pressing matters to attend to."
Found in: Deep Docks, Hunter's March.

Savage Beastfly (12)

Description: "Angered, adult Beastfly with a weighty body and a thickened hardshell mask."
Hunter's Note: "Civilisation encroaches from this kingdom's crown, but the lowlands are still ruled by great beasts. Its roar stirs something deep within me, some primal instinct."
Found in: Hunter's March, Far Fields*.

Caranid (13)

Description: "Common winged bug of the lowlands. Generally docile, but will attack if threats come close."
Hunter's Note: "Their plump, round shape makes them well-suited for target practice. Difficult to resist testing my aim on them..."
Found in: The Marrow, Deep Docks.

List (14-27)

Vicious Caranid (14)

Description: "Aggressive winged bug of the lowlands. When angered, it rapidly whips its bladed tail as a weapon."
Hunter's Note: "Its wings are quite small compared to its bulk. Perhaps it uses the warm air of these fiery lands to help stay airborne. Clever, if so."
Found in: Deep Docks.

Hardbone Hopper (15)

Description: "Grazing creature with sharp senses that nimbly retreats from danger."
Hunter's Note: "Despite the Haunting of its shell, it has not been overcome with aggression. Its desire to flee remains too strong."
Found in: Deep Docks, Far Fields.

Hardbone Elder (16)

Description: "Tall creature with sharp senses. Defends its herd with powerful legs and a sharp tipped mask."
Hunter's Note: "There is surprising strength hidden in their thin, elegant limbs. It would be a pleasure to ride upon it..."
Found in: Far Fields.
Tip: You can farm the entry by re-entering this room over and over in Far Fields:

Tarmite (17)

Description: "Flying bone mite that lives near magma. Roasts its prey by spitting scorching tar."
Hunter's Note: "Its sticky spit would no doubt make a useful crafting material if moulded fresh. Unfortunately, I cannot stop to experiment."
Found in: Far Fields.

Mawling (18)

Description: "Young, boney bug that can curl its body to form a ball."
Hunter's Note: "Their rough, ridged shell grips tight to any surface. Even walls and roofs become pathways for these nimble bugs."
Found in: Moss Grotto, The Marrow.

Marrowmaw (19)

Description: "Giant roller of the lowlands. Its ridged hide will crush smaller creatures beneath it."
Hunter's Note: "Sheer bulk makes for an effective weapon, but requires much sustenance. This creature would have spent most of its time eating. An acceptable life for some."
Found in: Moss Grotto*, Memorium.

Hoker (20)

Description: "Spine-shooting drifter of the lowlands."
Hunter's Note: "Whatever admiration I had for its fleecy down is spoilt by its disturbing mask... and its steely spines."
Found in: Far Fields.

Flintbeetle (21)

Description: "Rarely seen beetle that spends most of its life nestled deep in bone and rock. The Flintgems on its shell excrete an explosive powder."
Hunter's Note: "Its bright gems could be used to make beautiful, but short-lived jewellery. An amusing idea for a gift... or a trap."
Found in: The Marrow, during a Wish.
Note: Missable in Act 3, not required.

Rhinogrund (22)

Description: "Long-horned beast of Pharloom's lowlands. Relies on its horn both to impale and to wrench the ground beneath it, flinging dangerous debris."
Hunter's Note: "Certain tools and skills can pierce its defences. I should adjust my strategy as needed."
Found in: Far Fields*, Pilgrim's Rest*, Memorium.
Note: During Act 3, can be found in Far Fields to the right of the Deep Docks Bell:

Gromling (23)

Description: "Young masked worm that delights in ambushing intruders within its tunnels."
Hunter's Note: "A frustrating fiend. They flee beneath the bone whenever I try to strike them down."
Found in: Wormways.
Note: During Act 3, a lot of spawns become unavailable. You can find them to the top right of Wormways:

Grom (24)

Description: "Burrowing worm that uses its many blunted teeth to dig through even the hardest bone."
Hunter's Note: "They ceaselessly churn through rock and bone without ever seeming to rest. Do they have a destination? Or are they compelled to dig forever deeper?"
Found in: Wormways.
Tip: To kill them, either slash twice with an upgraded Needle & Wanderer's Crest, or use high-damage tools.

Bell Beast (25)

Description: "Huge, hardbone bug that lives within and travels through the veins of old bells across Pharloom."
Hunter's Note: "This one has allied themself with me, either as thanks for their saving or respect for one judged as equal. Whichever the reason, their fellowship is welcome."
Found in: The Marrow Bellway.

Pilgrim Groveller (26)

Description: "Basic bug of Pharloom, laid low upon the ground."
Hunter's Note: "Taken by Pharloom's Haunting, the bug is now capable of little more than prayer and aggression."
Found in: The Marrow, Mosshome, Choral Chambers, Bonegrave.

Pilgrim Pouncer (27)

Description: "Agile bug of Pharloom, its higher functions have been lost to the Haunting."
Hunter's Note: "With a softer shell than most, they would have relied on their athleticism to survive."
Found in: The Marrow, Mosshome, Blasted Steps, Bonegrave.

List (28-41)

Pilgrim Hornfly (28)

Description: "Short pilgrim that uses their long horn to launch upon threats."
Hunter's Note: "Birth equipped this one well. In its assault it becomes its own projectile."
Found in: Bongerave, Shellwood, Wormways.

Pilgrim Hulk (29)

Description: "Sturdy bug lost to the Haunting. Rolls at threats with no care for its own discomfort."
Hunter's Note: "A rare built bug within these ailing lands. Most pilgrims' shells seem small by comparison. What nourishment did they discover to grow so large?"
Found in: Far Fields.

Pilgrim Bellbearer (30)

Description: "Common bug wielding a set of old bells. The bug will fling the bells at anyone it deems still free."
Hunter's Note: "Their bells would once have rung with hope and mirth, lifting the spirits of any climbing companions. Sadly, those instruments have turned purely to combative use."
Found in: Greymoor, Bonegrave.

Winged Pilgrim (31)

Description: "Short-horned bug born with underdeveloped wings."
Hunter's Note: "Flight it possesses, but only just. It may lift from the stone, but those sad wings would never carry it far."
Found in: The Marrow, Shellwood, Bonegrave.

Elder Pilgrim (32)

Description: "Thick-set bug consumed my haunted thread. Uses their solid frame to crush others."
Hunter's Note: "A lucky bug to be able to grow old. Pharloom's roads take most much earlier."
Found in: Bonegrave, Shellwood.

Winged Pilgrim Bellbearer (33)

Description: "Pilgrim endowed with large wings, carrying a brace of iron bells."
Hunter's Note: "On uneven terrain their union of flight and range can prove a challenge even for me."
Found in: Shellwood, Greymoor.

Pilgrim Hiker (34)
