Short answer
No confirmed fix yet. This is a known issue reported by players; check back after the next patch.
The problem
Anything besides apprentice/water merchant(with pipes perk) feels so haphazard to play... Your initial resources run out, and any new equipment/Wild upgrade is just so expensive to unlock... Even the rat rancher start, you really wanna tell me that you can't cut a huge chunk of meat in half and it stays on your display for several days because people don't have money to pay for it? smh
