R.E.P.O.: Game freezes with new update (Workarounds)

Short answer

No confirmed fix yet. This is a known issue reported by players; check back after the next patch.

The problem

First. I want to preface this by saying I LOVE repo, and the new update. however, the game consistently freezes after about 1-2 hours of playing. I use a steam deck OLED, the newer model. This happens both while playing single player, and hosting a public lobby. I have not experienced this issue when playing on other friend's modded or vanilla servers.
