The Outer Worlds 2: Has Obsidian fixed the save glitch? (Workarounds)

Short answer

No confirmed fix yet. Players suggest: Reinstalling with a fresh save helped me

The problem

Deleted the game a few months back because I was having a bunch of fun, but after four hours of said fun, I went to save and the option was totally blocked out (no quicksave and the hard save option was greyed out). I looked it up and it was a known issue they were aware of but hadn't fixed it, I wanna give the game another go but I don't wanna lose four hours of progress again lol. I looked…

I've just hit this issue. Incredibly frustrating! Tried all the "fixes" I found posted here and there. This completely stops gameplay. If Obsidian fixed it or has a fix to offer, then they should make it known.

Wow still? And they are still asking $70 for the game! Glad I have held off buying. The first one was so good! Can't believe they haven't fixed the save issue yet!

Glad that helped! Drove me nuts when I did that quest the other day, since it worked fine in 3rd person the first time I did it.
