The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth: The Bindening™ - A Comprehensive Guide to Everything Isaac: Rebirth
Short answer
This guide is a follow-up to a guide created by Two of Diamonds/スydonia called "The Bindening™: A Comprehensive Guide to Everything Isaac" which explained everything about the original The Binding Of Isaac. This guide will be focusing on TBoI: Rebirth, Afterbirth, Afterbirth+ and Repentance
Steam Community guide by spider.
Disclaimer
This guide stopped development after February 2023.
As such, while in 95% of cases this guide reflects the game's current content, some minor things will not match up, and things added to the game post-2023 will be missing (co-op achievements, item rebalances, etc.)
I'm planning to remake and update this guide in the future, but when exactly that will happen remains as much of a mystery to you as it does to me. I have tons of things going on in my life right now, and fitting such a huge time investment into my schedule is nigh impossible. Steam's archaic guide making suite and image rot does not help things either.
If a remake does happen, it will involve a major restructuring of the guide's content in order to make it as future-proof and easy to edit as reasonably possible, since in the guide's current state adding things to it is simply godawful.
Opening notes
This guide is a man's feeble attempt at compressing an **entire game's wiki **into a single Steam guide. I did my best to lay all information out in a **readable **and **accessible **manner, however if you still cannot find something, use the **search function **by pressing CTRL+F
This guide uses lots of **technical tricks **that only work properly on **PC **to achieve its visual style. If you're visiting this guide on a mobile device, or any other device with a small screen, the visual quality of the guide may severely diminish.
Do also note that Steam guides as large as this become subject to guide rot, which is essentially the Steam guide flavor of link rot. Images will disappear over time as they get corrupted within Steam's servers, and formatting that may have been perfectly fine will eventually get warped as Steam tweaks its visual layout.
I'm also going to use this spot at the top of the guide to shill my other guides for Nuclear Throne, Left 4 Dead 2, and Entropy : Zero 2. If you play any of these games, you might wanna check these guides out.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
This is the main hub for news regarding this guide, and rarely other guides as well.
The posts will be ordered from newest to oldest, to ensure the newest, and therefore most important post is at the top.
Should any timestamps be present, they will always be in the Greenwich Mean Time timezone (GMT)
2023-01-06 THE REMAKE IS DONE!!!!!
After 101 days of non-stop work, the visual remake is finally DONE.
All images have been restored, most of them also got updated, most of the wording got an update, and the overall visuals of the guide were significantly improved. To put it short, I brought this guide up to modern standards.
I'm certainly not done with it yet. I can still see a couple of things that can be improved, but for now I'll take a break. I'll have a couple more looks at all of this, see if I missed something, and I'll return to my eternal slumber. It's been a journey. Farewell.
2022-12-18
Need to remove all images from the guide and reupload them in order to have them properly ordered. All images in the guide will be offline for the time being, until I can put them back in place
2022-11-09
Severely overstated how long the new design would take.
ETA pushed back to before 2023
2022-11-07
I'm not content with how the mini-bosses look, even after the update.
I've managed to come up with a design that would look really good but at the same time it will take really long to implement. I think it will be worth it though. If it works well, I'm gonna apply it to bosses as well. This may extend the length of the remake by a month or two, but again, I think it's worth it.
2022-11-04
Flushed a few of the old announcements because this section has finally reached the character limit.
Patch v1.7.9 released today, featuring a plethora of changes, all of which I'll have to eventually include into the guide. I'll finish the 'Enemies' section and I'll start working on it.
This update also gave birth to possibly the best daily run yet, the G-FUEL daily. I have never seen this game go this apesh▬t crazy before... ... ...I mean.. I have... but not in vanilla.
The image below speaks for itself I think.
2022-12-18: [Image removed due to image sector clean-up]
RIght, uh, the whole remake and all that, so I had to remove the image.
Just imagine a bunch of Steam screenshots filled with MLG explosions and rooms full of Monstro
2022-10-28
A month later, and the remake has finally touched the 'Enemies' section.
From this point onward, the guide will undergo massive changes, as most sections following 'Enemies' (including 'Enemies' itself) will need to be completely remade, which includes deleting all existing sections, and rewriting the whole thing from the ground up.
Therefore, the part of the guide described above will most likely be rendered unusable for a sizable chunk of time.
All images from affected sections will also most likely be deleted as well, being reuploaded and readded after the main part of the remake (the writing part) is done.
2022-09-27
Starting to slowly work on the guide. It's a logistical failure, to say the least. Gonna have to re-do absolutely everything. It will take a good while, so I'm going to do it in segments, so that only a small section of the guide is unusable for 3 days instead of the entire guide for 3 months
(curiously enough, the removed links are back up. if anyone from Steam is reading this, thanks)
2022-09-21
I'm ass-deep in education right now, so I doubt I'll get much work done, if any. Until I get some free time, the guide is going to remain in this state
2022-09-12
(11:24) So I just realized if I open a bunch of Chrome windows, edit individual sections in those windows, and hit Save in every window at once, I can edit multiple sections without having to fight Steam's content check system. Gonna be using that from now on to push changes at a faster rate.
(11:25) Also failure code 15 doesn't seem to occur anymore, meaning I can update the guide normally. At least now I've got a failsafe should this issue return.
(11:26) I'll also need to wipe a few announcements from here soon, as this section is nearing the 8k char limit.
2022-09-08
The issue mentioned below has not yet been fixed and it is unlikely that a fix will happen at all. Due to this the visual remake will be much less sophisticated and will boil down to rewriting a few sections per day in my spare time. For now I'll just try to finish the changelog.
2022-09-04
(09:35) Starting today, this guide will be going through a visual remake. The guide will likely be much harder to use during this period, and may often go private due to Steam's content check system. First I'll start by renovating this section and the changelog, to set up the groundwork for the changes ahead.
(09:52) I need to remove all of the old assets and a good chunk of the existing images in the guide to make this work in the long-term, the guide might be very hard to read in certain parts, especially if they rely on images to convey information.
(10:39) Weird things going on with the Steam Client; it keeps printing failure code 15. Halting progress until I can get this fixed
(15:31) Visual update halted indefinetely. Steam's content check system locks the entire guide for up to an hour even after the slightest change. During the check, the guide cannot be seen, or updated. Development has slowed down to a crawl, and thus, has been halted until the issue disappears. The content check additionally removed all links inside of the guide, complicating things even further. Steam Support has been contacted, awaiting reply.
2022-08-26 «IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT»
My secret project is done. If you're a Nuclear Throne player, then I have released a comprehensive guide for it. Need to get it some traction so go check it out, give it some love.

2022-08-21
I'm thinking of a complete visual overhaul of the guide once I'm done with a certain secret project of mine. If I get a good boost of motivation that secret project will no longer be secret by tomorrow but that's not very likely. Expect news within the next few days though.
2022-08-03
Regarding the missing image issue: It's just Steam's servers randomly corrupting the images to the point in which they don't even render anymore. This can be remedied by uploading the image again. However, this will only work if the image's name or content is edited; otherwise Steam will spit out code 29. Fixing this issue in a manner that's going to work long-term is going to take very long, so expect the missing image issue to be fixed either at a later point in the future, or not at all (the latter is more likely).
Introduction
This is a guide that aims to explain everything in the game, including content from DLCs (Afterbirth, Afterbirth+ and Repentance). From the environment and characters to items and bosses, this guide has it all... or should, at least.
The information in this guide is partially based on my own experience with Isaac and information from the official The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth Wiki[bindingofisaacrebirth.gamepedia.com]
Steam has a max limit of 8000 characters per section. This limit has forced me to split certain sections into** multiple parts**. This is especially noticeable in large sections, like Items, Trinkets, or Achievements, which can have from **10 **to **50 **sections.

Environment - Introduction
Environmental objects are the various physical obstacles you encounter in most rooms. Every type of environmental object has its own unique properties which make them stand out from others.
Environmental objects in a room are placed along a grid. The grid spans the entire room and is 15 cells wide, and 9 cells tall. A room's walls are also considered grid objects, thus makng the practical grid size be 13x7 cells. This translates to a maximum of 90 environmental objects per room (91 - 1, because there needs to be an empty slot for the player to spawn in upon entering the room).
However, the paragraph above applies to normal rooms only.
Slim rooms have a practical grid size of 5x7 cells, long slim rooms have a practical grid size of 5x14 cells, long rooms have a practical grid size of 26x7 cells, and large rooms have a practical grid size of 26x14 cells.
Environment - Rocks
Rocks are by far the most common obstacle you'll be finding in your run. All types of rocks block your tears and movement, and come in many flavors, including:
Their apperances, properties and habitats are listed in the table below
Regular Rocks
Area-specific Rocks
Environment - Fires
Alongside rocks you will also be finding fireplaces quite often. These will burn you on contact, but can be destroyed with tears, unlike rocks. There are five types of fires:
All of them have unique properties which may work in your favor, or your disfavor. That being said, all of them are listed below.
Environment - Poops
Alongside rocks and fires, poop is yet another common obstacle you'll be finding in your runs. There are nine types of them:
Poops are slightly more functionally diverse than both rocks and fire places. All of them are described below.
Environment - Gaps
**Gaps **are the last of the four common obstacles you'll encounter. They block the player, just like rocks, but let projectiles go through. Most of the times when you'll be seeing these, they will be blocking your way to a certain pickup, or perhaps even an item.
Gaps can be filled, enabling the player to walk over them, if a bomb blows up a rock adjacent to the gap. The bomb must be on the opposite side of the rock from the perspective of the gap, as pictured below. Certain poops can also be used to fill gaps.
Gaps can also be sometimes filled with water, or lava. This is purely cosmetic, and the gaps still need to be filled with rocks for the player to be able to walk over them
The process of filling gaps
Environment - Creep
**Creep **is a puddle of liquid, which has an effect on the player, and occasionally enemies.
Creep which affects the player flickers, while the creep that doesn't, does not flicker. Enemy-spawned creep will disappear immediately after the room is cleared.
The effects of creep can be avoided by having flight, or the Callus trinket. There are ten types of creep in the game, although together they only perform 3 functions. The ten types of creep are:
All of them are listed in the table below.
Damaging Creep
Slowing Creep
Slippery Creep
Hybrid Creep
Environment - Spikes
During a run, you may often run into spikes. They do what it says on the tin: damage the player, should they be bold enough to step on them.
Spikes can be divided into two groups: stationary spikes, and moving spikes.
Stationary spikes can be walked over, but will damage the player for one full heart in the process. Damage from these spikes can be avoided by having flight, the Callus trinket, the Flat Pile trinket, the Orphan Socks item, or any sort of method to gain invincibility, such as the Book of Shadows. Spikes, just like gaps, will often block the player from accessing certain goods.
Moving spikes will damage the player for just half a heart (full heart in Chapter IV and beyond), but they, as the name suggests, can move. Having flight, Callus or Orphan Socks doesn't protect the player from damage the moving spikes deal, as moving spikes are considered entities, although Flat Pile or any form of **invincibility **still nullify them
Stationary Spikes
Moving Spikes
Environment - Turrets
Turrets might just be the most annoying obstacle of all. They are stationary, **invincible **stone sculptures, which fire blood shots or sometimes other projectiles, at the player.
Just like the moving spikes mentioned above, due to turrets being considered entities and not grid objects, they can be killed/removed by items such as Euthanasia or Little Horn.
There are a staggering 11 unique types of turrets, all of which are described below.
Environment - Shopkeepers
Shopkeepers, or rather what remains of them, are background objects that appear in shops and secret rooms, and do just about nothing.
They can be killed, however, usually by blowing them up (they can also be killed by fire, Mom's Foot, or a Holy Light beam).
Killing shopkeepers increases Deal Room chance, and may cause them to drop certain rewards.
There are 4 types of shopkeepers, 2 of which need to be unlocked for them to spawn.
Shopkeepers
Unlockable Shopkeepers
Environment - Other
Here are the other environmental objects that were too insignificant to have their own section.

Pickups - Introduction
**Pickups **are minor items that can be found throughout your journey, and are essential to a run. They can be divided into h
